VMware ESXi 5.0, Patch Release ESXi500-201109001

VMware has released the Patch for ESXi 5.0.

This Patch can be applied through the VMware Update Manager or ESXi hosts can be updated by manually downloading the patch ZIP file from the VMware download page and installing the VIB by using the      "esxcli software vib" command (without quotes). Additionally, the system can be updated using the Image Profile and the esxcli software profile command.

VMware ESXi 5.0 Installation Steps

As I have promised, the basic installation steps for VMware vSphere 5.0 snapshots are at your service... :)

Before starting the installation procedure I want to give you some hardware specs of my server.
For testing purposes, I am installing the new Hypervisor i.e. (vSphere 5.0)  on a virtual Machine created on the old hypervisor i.e. vSphere 4.0... :) and yes you can perform most of the labs in this environment.

I have used the VM with the following specs:

RAM : 03 GB
HDD: 15 GB
NIC: 04
vCPU: 02

In my next post, we will see how to creat virtual machines using VMware vSphere Client.

VMware has launched new version in its Infrastructure product line, and being a virtualization enthusiast I will try to get some kind of detailed hands on expertise and yes you all are welcome here to share your experience and suggestions.
